Tim Grandy Oakleigh Grammar’s Business Manager secretly records phone calls with parents.

To cut a long story short. We had a disagreement regarding our account with the school. Instead of showing empathy to the situation Tim decided to talk over me. When i requested to speak to Mark Robinson the schools principle regarding the matter Tim denied my request. Words were exchanged and then I hanged up.

Tim later followed up with an email stating he was secretly recording our conversation and making threats that i needed to apologies or he was going to the police, (because his feelings were hurt).

Firstly no threats of violence were made. Secondly from a business persective no one under law can record a conversation without the consent of the other party, especially on a privately owned device.

Tim also further harrassed me with further emails trying to justify secretly recording me, when i pointed out he cannot legally record me without my consent.

After this ordeal i contacted the school to speak to Mark Robinson. He wasn’t able to take the call, so i ended up speaking to his PA Tania Waston. To be fair she did show empathy and did apologise and agreed Tim’s behaviour was abhorrent. Even though Tim stated he recorded the call Tania stated no call was recorded. I asked did anyone check Tim’s phone and she answered NO,

My question how do I know he isnt lying?

Unfortunately Tania also denied my request to speak to Mark and now he is on leave till the start of term 3.

After speaking to Tania i sent her an email stating that a payment would be made (even though i feel the amount isn’t owed due to mistskes being done by the school) once i recieve an apology from Tim either by phone or in writing.

Afew days have gone past since i wrote the email as i didn’t recieve a response, i decided to call the school and speak to Tania again and Tania refused my request for an apology from Tim even though Tania acknowledges Tim’s behaviour was in the wrong.

The question here is who else is this creep secretly recording and why does Oakleigh Grammar condone Tim’s behaviour.

i should have thought carefully when I saw lots of bad reviews.
my mistake. this school is no good. waste of money. lots of discrimination hidden. especially for short study students. no respect. strongly recommend to find other schools.
Educational quality is not on par with what you would pay for. Shoddy bathroom facilities, constant leaks, overflows and mess. Waste of money and time. Oakleigh Grammar churns out the most feral students I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Only good thing about this school is the canteen.
Bullying is a big problem in this school. My child and my friend’s child were bullied,. One of the staff members told me that it is because my child didn’t fit in (I am not sure what she meant exactly.) I paid $10000 school fees for that year, but we didn’t seem to get any benefit out of it. We are glad that our child has left this school. We believe that children’s development is very important if the children are in a safe and happy environment, but bullying is a big problem in this school and we had a terrible time at this school.
The school and community have become an extension of our family home environment due to it’s open, down to earth, and nurturing character. My child is excited to go to school every morning because she feels safe in such an environment and stimulated by the curriculum. For this reason i am pleased because my child hasn’t seperated school from family nurture.
