I attended Ojus Elementary back in 1966-1968. I loved it there! Before I started my second year I was informed that I would have to attend another school in Hialeah and I remember throwing such a fit with my mom that the the Principal of Ojus made an exception to policy for me to return there! I lived out at the Country Club of Miami (next door to Jackie Gleason) so it was a long haul for my mom to take and pick me up everyday. It was an excellent school then as I’m sure it is still today and one that I will always have many fond memories of!

I used to be in this school K-5 I enjoyed those 6 years but I had to leave in the middle of 5th grade. There is great staff,great teachers and students. But the cafeteria ladys are kind of rude but otherwise the rest is fine. You read so in your FSAs you passed and since Ive been there I believe only 3 people failed out of 900 students I think yes. I recommend you putting your child in this school. It won 2nd place out of the whole Miami dade county in being the greatest school.

Ojus Elementary School was founded in 1898 making it one of the oldest schools in Miami-Dade. During the Great Hurricane of 1926 the local residents were saved by taking shelter in the newly constructed concrete building. Ojus Elementary has a rich history and remains a great school. 5 stars for Ojus Elementary School. By Gregg L. Friedman MD, Ojus Class of 1972.
