Looking back on my experience this place deserves 5 stars but I choose to remove one for the former me who attended. It was stressful at the time but 100% worth the struggle. I was not a straight A student before attending this school. I was just a kid who really wanted to attend and worked hard to put myself in the best position to be selected. OSSM isn’t just a school for high achievers it is also a place for those of us who have determination.

The curriculum provided advanced STEM classes, top notch humanities, and extracurricular activities. I participated in ballroom dance class and Tai Chi while attending. I feel that I graduated from the school well rounded and more ready for university than had if I had stayed in my home town highschool.

My two years there were spent making life long friends and learning to over come challenging goals that I had set for myself. I didn’t fully comprehend the value of attending OSSM until my first year of university where I felt confident in my ability to learn and less stressed than many of my peers.

I found my way into engineering because of this school and have loved every minute of it. Attending OSSM was the most difficult time of my academic career and it is the best decision I have ever made.

This school changed my life. I came from a place of cows, farmland, and food stamps. This school opened my eyes to what I could do with my life and I grew as a person. OSSM helped me get a full-ride scholarship to a private university – our college counselor drove me to the interview himself because I didn’t have a ride. This speaks volumes about the hearts of the faculty and how much they want their students to succeed. I am now a physician. I am lucky to have been a part of OSSM. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for those two tough, transformative years.
This is a top notch school offering courses and other opportunities rural Oklahoma students would never get otherwise. I’m an OSSM alumni (CO2016) and while my experience was tainted by bad administrators, I made incredible friends, developed great study skills, and got to do research at OU as a high school student. I can also say that some of the friends I made went to Ivy League schools, close to full ride, coming from rural schools that would have been happy if they had just gone to community college. Its can be a tough place, but it truly changes lives.
