Up until today 5/23/2022 we’ve had a reasonably good experience maybe another star. We’ve changed which class my daughter was in once. We moved her to a digital art class from a cartooning class because they started doing cartooning using the sun through the window standing up. I’m no expert, but I don’t think that’s how it’s done. Everything was going fine in the digital art class until I got a call on Sunday from the director saying they were ending the class. I said no problem I’d just come in on Monday and figure it out, she said great. So I get in there with my daughter to potentially select a new class. The person I talked to wasn’t there, and whoever I did talk to didn’t know anything about the class cancellation and just acted confused. Once she made it clear that she had no intention of figuring out what was going on, I just told her to freeze the account and really just for lack of a better option. My daughter is very upset.
UPDATE: 11/21/2022 Things just got worse over time. They increased the price twice, the second time without mentioning anything, they just charge the card without asking. Furthermore it’s written into their policy that you’re agreeing to an extra month of paying them beyond when you attempt to leave. This organization is the worst kind. Private lessons would have a similar cost to this racket.
We’ve had a great experience with the in-person camps and the virtual camps. We’ve also had a great experience with the in-person portfolio classes. The teachers and staff are very good at communicating. They are also very good at creating a diverse and inclusive community. The teachers have encouraged my child to feel safe taking risks artistically and to push themselves outside of their comfort zone. I highly recommend One River School of Art and its in-person and virtual camps and classes.
My daughter absolutely loves and looks forward to her weekly art lessons with Ms Molly at one river school of art. She has grown so much as a budding artist
She understands light, texture , shape and different forms of art styles. The teachers are all so wonderful, patient and attentive. Check them out , it’s time well spent on refining your art skills
