It’s a mania to which more and more parents are subjecting themselves to, pressuring applicants to pad their forms and tout superficial experiences and hobbies, convincing them that attending a prestigious primary school is paramount.
BUT THIS IS AN UNNECESSARY PROCEDURE FOR ORANGEFIELD PRIMARY.
The admissions are confusing, contradictory and very unfair. Distance holds no bearing when the fact is, if your child is not accepted for nursery, you can forget about primary.
The attendance of a parent is irrelevant as a merit for a child’s acceptance and can be legally challenged due to the multiple nationalities that need equal access. Distance has no relevance and decisions are imbalanced. AND if it is to be believed, non-board members are “promising” placements to applicants whom fill the friendship tick box.
IF you are to attempt to apply, take heed, if refused, second choice options, understandably, are not always willing to consider your application.
As for the school, fortunate school to be updated, a curriculum that is as the education authority stipulates, no better than other schools that have less financial support and teachers…. like any other school, never go beyond their job criteria but one out of every three, should be paid a tad more.
Not the school that is a sincere memory and definitely gains no favours by gossiping parents promising placement.
Like all schools, results reflect the quality.
