The high school is a decent place to learn as long as the students have the right teacher, some teachers expect students to keep up when they cant, and most are not taught or trained to deal with students who have autism/ADHD etc. The sixth form is abismal at best teachers back stab their own students to make their classes seem better preforming and the head of the sixth at the time had no idea what she was doing or had any sympathy for students who had issues at home, with the work or with mental disabilities/disadvantages (this is the same teacher who didn’t bother making sure the students in the class room where up to speed with everyone else) this is my own opinion of when I was there from 2011-2017 6 years of high school, 1 year of sixth form. From what I’ve heard after I left from my former maths teacher the school has worsened since out wood have taken over.
Terrible so glad I’m no longer there. I have friends recently dealing with them too. They are terrible at dealing with bullying and the way they treat some students especially 6 formers treating them like kids they complained at my friend about her tattoo when she’s a 6 former its up to her what she’s does not them or even coloured hairs when ur in 6 form you can do all tht .
Most of the teachers were all right but it dealt with bullying very poorly. Treats the Six Form students like children whilst expecting them behave like adults. Sends home ‘contracts’ to sign that have mispellings, clipart and define all the things they want from you but no guarentee of things you should expect from them as providers of education. Instead of providing assistance to my brother who was finding the workload and expections stressful and asked for help, he was brushed of with a ‘welcome to the adult world’. The school ‘nurse’ won’t give you paracetomal after 1pm because ‘there isn’t any point’, I guess you can suffer through the pain until you get home after 3pm. The library, whilst useless for anyone studying for A-Levels that might need textbooks is well stocked and has a good number of computers, the staff are friendly and helpful though.
They’ve taken PC to the new level. Told a student to remove their Royal Marine hoodie as it may offend other religions attending the college. Yet the Royal Marines advertise on television?? Surely that’s offensive too then?
Do you really want to send your child to an academy that send this message out to their students? I don’t and shan’t.
This school only know how to descriminate students. They refuse to help students with mental health issues, allow students to bully, search the students without consent and worst of all insulting the students
