Unless your child fits in the cookie cutter box of conformity don’t go here. If you have a child with special needs know that this tier 1 school still doesn’t want to get the resources you need and they believe discipline alone is the only way to teach a child. to include putting a child in isolation for 7 hours (ages 3 and up!) no recess. There is no backing to their disciplinary style for that age group. There is a reason they have more and more families homeschooling than going, though if you are a duel working family you are pretty much screwed. The principle Warren is awful and her lacky Ms. Locke physically hurt my child by squeezing his hand making him cry out. No control of themselves and they believe punishment supersedes a child’s growth process. Keep the number for the military school liaison handy. And if you have a special needs child get the EFMP to help you before going here because they will screw with you for months. Sadly, the teachers in general are pretty good, I liked my children’s teachers but the management of the place is poor.
Worst school officials, from the teacher to the principal. Unless your child is an angel, don’t bother with this school, they will suspend, give detention, then suspend some more until they meet their goal in kicking your child out. All they care about is not having any misbehaved children. Worst of all, even if your child may have a disability that is causing their bad behavior and a behavior plan was created to help with the behavior, it becomes completely ignored until its too late. What’s sad is this attitude of theirs is included among Student Services Department and the District of Education Department. But the real problem is the teacher, new teacher at that. Don’t pick to teach youngsters if you don’t know how to and if you don’t know how to be respectful or kind to their parent.
Only giving one star because I have to to give a review. Staff is unprofessional especially the principal. My child’s first time attending school and because he wasn’t a perfect little angel they tried to convince me that he was disruptive and autistic. Not only that they left marks on his arm from grabbing him to stop him from running and they lost him! I found him wandering around. When I politely brought it up they yelled at me and blamed my child. Worst school ever!! Please don’t send your children here.
