I had given up hope on the public school system about a year before I found Paideia Academies. My children had gone to “A+” schools in very nice areas in the surrounding areas of Phoenix and did not learn anything, yet there was no concern from the teachers and the school still passed them. I had to quit my job and homeschool 4 children, all different grades, because I could not stand to put them in another school that could care less. When I drove up to Paideia Academies, I was skeptical, but I decided to go in and talk with Dr. Winsor and see if he could change my perception. He did just that! I left the school that day feeling such relief! Now, with the school year almost over, I still feel the same way. I have a child that has struggled with learning. Her teacher, Mrs. Shunick, recognized this issue, where her teachers beforehand did not, and Paideia is doing everything in their power to make sure that she is taught in a way that will help her to succeed. Every morning, Dr. Winsor stands before the entire school and teaches them to be respectful as well as teaches them morals and values that they will carry with them for life. This school also shows pride in America by saying the Pledge of Allegiance every morning as well as sings patriotic songs. Paideia Academies offers to children and families what you would expect an expensive charter school to offer, yet Paideia is absolutely free. Paideia Academies of South Mountain is a blessing to Phoenix and to my family!
My family and i recently moved to Phoenix a month ago. My daughter attended a school 20 minutes outside her district because i didnt agree with the low scores of her asigned school. I looked into this school because it was close by my job. As soon as i enrolled online to recieve more information, Dr. Brian Winsor emailed me less than an hour later. He was so nice and helpful, asking if there was anything he could do to help let him know. Dr. Winsor made it so easy for me when it came down to enrolling my daughter into the third grade here with only having 1 available spot open last minute. I really appreciated that. I showed up with all my paperwork and I was in and out within 10 minutes and my scholar started Monday morning. The staff here has been more than helpful, giving me peace of mind considering her last school I didn’t much care for. Love love love it, thank you so much with our adjustment here is Arizona.
I have two grandsons who have attended Paideia School since January 2013. I am very pleased with the academic instruction as well with the safe, friendly, family oriented environment. They are not only learning the required curriculum but also the importance and understanding of how to become positive members of their community. The diversity in the school lends itself to “real world” experience and enriches the overall elementary school experience.
