The attitude towards black students is appalling. This is a modern day 1968 Selma alabama. My daughters 5th grade teacher was racist she showed favoritism to white students a some Hispanics if they were mixed with Caucasian blood. My grandson who is gifted and came from Denver Colorado where he attended an Academy was told he missed a deadline for gifted classes. Terry who works in the front office said they have protocols and they can’t make exceptions because they have to hire substitute teachers and order new books… but this is an A rated school AND NUBER 113 in the state…. the gifted teacher was rude and stated she would give my daughter Web sites to work with him at home, that was not information she volunteered either. My point is the first 2 people did not give a welcoming feeling for the little smart 1st grade black boy who is reading 3rd grade level and doing time tables. In regards to all of that we will have to wait and see but we won’t wait too long and we will find an Academy to put him in. WHERE I’M FROM THIS WAS NEVER A PROBLEM. AS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN IT’S APPARENT THAT RACISM STILL EXIST AND IS JUST DONE DIFFERENTLY. I WILL PRAY FOR THESE PEOPLE AND THE ONLY REASON I WON’T BE A PAIN IS BECAUSE WE ARE MOVING TO SCOTTSDALE WHERE THERE IS A SCHOOL THAT TEST EVERY CHILD AS THEY COME IN. SOME SCHOOL DISTRICTS REALLY SUCK. THIS STATE AS A WHOLE HAS ONE OF THE WORST EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. THE LESS KIDS THAT ATTEND PAL VALLEY ELEMENTARY THE LESS FUNDING THEY WILL RECEIVE. SO IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE TAUGHT RACISM SUBLIMINALLY THIS IS THE SCHOOL FOR YOU. IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO BE DEACRIMINATED AGAINST SUBLIMINALLY THIS IS THE SCHOOL FOR YOU.
