Christine should not be teaching Kindergarten, or even working with children. Her attitude towards kids that don’t catch on quickly is disgusting. We are both teachers, and our twins attended for 1 1/2 years at the tail end of the pandemic. When Christine and Eva first expressed that our son was struggling, we spent over $500 getting him tested at the center they recommended in Scottsdale. The testing was negative for learning disabilities. They refused to accept the result and even called the testing center to convince them they meant to tell us there was something wrong. The specialist even told them Eva to work with him, but she was too full of herself to listen to anything we were saying. It took us a while to also figure out that Christine had been excluding our son from whole group work and was treating him like he was stupid for almost the entire kinder year. His sister learned to read easily and was treated very differently by Christine. Our son had zero confidence and hated school when he graduated. THANK GOD his 1st grade teacher at our neighborhood public school (with twice as many students in her class as PVM), cares about her students and has completely changed our son’s outlook on school. He goes to reading intervention and does tutoring, instead of being given the same failed activities over and over again like at PVM. We’re 4 months into the school year and he has gone from knowing no sounds or letters to reading Bob books and is so excited about it. He is also excelling in math. Avoid this school and go to your local public school – the teachers are actually certified and have better systems in place when students are struggling.
5 stars isnt enough stars, honestly. I absolutely love this school! When we were looking at Montessori schools for my son, every school I went toured didnt give me a good feeling. As soon as I walked into this school, I immediately knew this was the school for him. This was a year ago now and boy was I right! I noticed an amazing change in my son from the first month of him attending. He was able to interact with other children better, his speech shot through the roof and he was coming home every week knowing something new. He has so many friends here and his teachers definitely notice his potential and work so good with him. All of the staff is so friendly and supportive of him and us as parents too! The activities that they have for after school events are so fun and rewarding to the parents as well, because we get to see how our child is so happy when he is with his teachers and his classmates. I hope to be able to see him grow even more here. Thank you for all you do PVM! <3
I honestly didnt plan on writing a review, but felt necessary after seeing the positive change in my child after putting him in a new school where he is now thriving. We are finally receiving consistent communication about what they are learning from his new teacher (which we only got during teacher conferences while he was in the primary class at PVM), and our child is finally excited to go to school and share about the fun things he did throughout the day- which is such a major change from our primary class experience at PVM. At his new school, the head teacher and the students greet him with a smile and warmth- he feels so accepted and part of a community now. I wont go into detail about our experiences while at PVM, but will say that my gut told me it wasnt a good fit when he moved out of the toddler class and into the primary class
and I should have listened to my mom instincts. Im sure this school works for some, but definitely not for all.
