My son has been a student with Park’s Yong In Martial Arts since the age of 5. He began as a Tiny Tiger with Master Mindy, enrolled in a one-month trial. I was so impressed with how patient Grand Master Park and Master Mindy were, how they were able to balance learning and practice with fun, keeping all of those little ones engaged. My son would practice his Home Rules, counting and phrases in Korean, stances, and forms. As he has advanced and grown, so have the lessons. He has learned things you would expect from Tae Kwon Do- how to do different kicks including a Tornado kick, complicated forms, self-defense, how to spar, and how to break boards. He has learned weapons such as nunchucks, bo staff, and swords. He has learned Judo. He has participated in tournaments. He has been part of the demo team, illustrating his skills and working together with his peers.
He learned other things that I hadn’t thought about. He learned to bow when entering the dojang and to Grand Master Park as a sign of respect. He learned how to accept corrections from others as a way to improve himself. He learned how to get up in front of a room full of people when testing for his next belt. He learned to think before acting. He learned that it takes hard work, determination, and courage to do worthwhile things.
My son is now 17 and testing for his 3rd degree Black Belt. Park’s Yong In Martial Arts has been a significant part of his life, helping him to become the person he is today. I am profoundly grateful to Grand Master Park, Ms. Melinda, Master Andrew, and Master Mindy for teaching him the art of Tae Kwon Do and how to be an overall good person. If you are STILL reading this review, I highly recommend this dojang. Your child will learn Tae Kwon Do, but the additional lessons your child will learn from the Park family and their way of teaching Tae Kwon Do are so very important.
My son has absolutely enjoyed his journey to black belt at Park’s Yong. From the moment he started he and his class mates became a family. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging and he has grown so much over the last few years. He has so much more confidence and is no longer worried to try things that scare him. The first time he broke a board he was hooked and ready to keep learning. They teach the students respect, strength, confidence and teamwork. We would 100% recommend Park’s Yong-in Martial Arts for any kid at any age! Highly recommend taking the path of the Black Belt Club. We will forever be a part of the Park’s Yong family.
I started doing Tae Kwon Do here back in September of 2021 (roughly 3 years ago.) I’m so glad that my parents introduced me to PYMA, as it has been a really long, yet fun journey.

I especially loved the CMA tournaments where I once participated in the demo team. The nunchucks classes are also a really neat addition too!

Overall, the staff and teachers here are awesome and very helpful. I would definitely recommend PYMA to my other friends!
