Have had to work for the school district numerous times and have not received any payments in nearly two months. I help out with state powerlifting and I tend to give up my Saturdays during powerlifting season to help out the sport I love when I could be making more money on any given weekend than I get paid to judge meets. I have received checks from every other school district this year except for the three meets I have run at gautier. I am young and have bills to pay and me giving up my saturdays really hurts when it comes to paying bills. it hurts even worse when I have bills coming up and the district has been holding onto my money for two months. I am relying on ramen noodles and peanut butter and bread until gautier can get their stuff together and pay me so I can finally buy groceries.
This school district is not offering any virtual option for students for the 2020-2021 school year. Our area is hitting new peaks in regards to Covid-19 even worse than when school closed in March and they still want students to come in ONLY. Neighboring school districts offer multiple options. I am so disappointed in the lack of safety concern for our students, teachers, & and the people they have to come home too.
