I stayed at home with my daughter for almost three years and was hesitant to send her anywhere that wasn’t family. Courtney made the transition easy and spoke with me several times over the first few weeks to check in and report on how my daughter was adjusting. Our conversations often lasted nearly an hour and she and her team certainly made everything much better for our family. Now after summer programs, and my daughter’s first year of preschool, I realize we’ve made the best decision for our family. My daughter is happy and well-adjusted. She is still sad that Mommy is working but she is happy that she has her own “work” to go to. On top of all the emotional support she gets at school she is also learning. We sat down to work on her Valentine’s day cards and I asked her to write her name. Shock and awe as she formed nearly perfect letters, without help, at the age of three. Thank you Pathway for everything that you do for us and for the loving environment you’ve provided for our daughter!

UPDATE: Kindergarten year came much too quickly for us and is passing more rapidly than I am ready for. I can only say that I am grateful my daughter is a part of this family…and that is what Pathway Montessori has provided: a family and home feeling when she is away from her family and our home. I was concerned leaving her in an environment with other kids as I know how cruel and lovely and then cruel again kids can be to each other but from 3-6 she’s been supported and loved and given confidence in social situations that are difficult to navigate for an adult let alone a child. Thank goodness that I gave my need for control and my trust over to Courtney as she and her team truly love each of the children that come through the door. I look forward to sending my son here when he is old enough!

It has been an absolute joy to have our children be a part of the fabric of the Pathway’s Montessori program. Our family has been involved in Courtney Blakemore’s single room classroom environment for the past five years as the provider of education for our two children and I can’t tell you how happy we are to be a part of it. Our son and daughter have flourished at Pathway and not just in academics but as human beings. These are the years you build who you are, and being a dual income home, we were very worried about leaving our children every day at a place that lacked the ability to fully develop them as people.

Courtney and her team give an incredible amount of love and care into their teaching. We were so pleased with the results that we chose to keep both of our children through Kindergarten. Our son entered First grade with an overwhelming education advantage and a most pleasant disposition to weather the change from Montessori to public school environment, which was definitely a challenge, but WELL WORTH IT. He is now a very happy second grader and our daughter is just finishing Kindergarten.

If you are considering Montessori but aren’t sure, or if you are contemplating the one room classroom environment over a larger facility, please reach out to Courtney to discuss your options, even if you don’t end up at Pathway, you will have the opportunity to talk to her and that will help you navigate your decision and allow you to understand her vision.

She is a great shaper of modern minds and a kind-hearted teacher that has devoted her life to helping children. We are so lucky to have found Pathway and Courtney.
