I went here as a kid. My brother’s and I switched schools when I was early high school. I lived here all my life, grandparents, family, for many years. This school used to be amazing. I’m sad to say that it is not what it used to be when I was a child. Now that our children go here, it is completely different. They say students are the top priority. Money is the top priority here now. We have an amazing, intelligent high school woman that we withdrew because the students are not the priority. They do allow bullying these days, as you can see in previous reviews. We told the school that our child will be standing up for herself from now on, so she did. The school, not the parents, are pressing charges on our honors classes daughter. Just not the same anymore. They lost an amazing student and athlete.
Strange that theres no restrictions on how long a female childs hair can be yet y’all added this year that a male childs should be at or above collar length. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Its hair. This is discrimination to indigenous families as well as sexist like what weve seen regarding Hudson. Imagine being so pressed over a boy childs hair length that you are going to punish him if he does not cut HIS OWN HAIR THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO THE SCHOOL. Are you guys going to pay for the cut? What about any therapy for a child being forced to alter their body for school regulation? If the answer is no to either you have no right to tell a child what they can or cannot do to their body including growing hair.
The length of a child’s hair has nothing to do with their education. The school board needs to revise their guidelines and focus on REAL problems. I don’t live here and I don’t have a child attending one of their schools but this ensures that I never will. Personally, I would pull the child from this school. I would not trust this school/school system with my child’s education.
