We visited a few times and each time, it seemed like things were very chaotic. We were told some teachers called in sick at the last minute and that’s why it was so chaotic. They had other people covering for the sick teachers rather than substitutes (at another daycare we toured in Los Gatos they had substitutes so that the teacher-child ratio was always the same). It was clean (hygienic), but a lot of it looked like it had seen better days.

The reason we decided not to chose this school for our toddler was that we were told each classroom had two teachers, yet all 3 times we visited there was only one, and each time it was a different teacher! Also, during snack time, they had one apple and some crackers for all of the kids and many of them asked for more food and there was none. They also could only have their water during designated snack or lunch times. This is for toddlers barely two!

During 2 out of the 3 times we went here, we waited a long time for Dana. One time I waited 2 hours and finally I tried to find her (since there was only one teacher in the classroom, I couldn’t ask her to go). I also got the feeling that we were not being told the full truth and that they didn’t have a good handle on some of the kids and that they had a high teacher turnover rate.

We were told that they practice gentle techniques and do not do time outs, but then we saw a boy all by himself in a room crying in the corner with a couple of toy cars and we were told that he was having “solo centering time”. (Isn’t that the same as a time out?!)

It is also on the higher end for pricing, but the hours are longer than most around here. I wish we had read the Google reviews first and not wasted our time here!

As a parent, finding a school you can trust with your little ones is no small feat, and Peppertree Schools of Los Gatos has been an absolute gem for our family. We have two girls under two, and from the very beginning, the warmth and care from Ms Danna, the Director and Co-Owner, have made us feel like we’re part of a big, caring family.

The staff’s loving and nurturing approach is evident in every interaction. They go above and beyond to ensure not only the educational but also the emotional and social development of our children. Communication is excellent, keeping us connected and involved in our girls’ education and daily adventures.

I have my 4 month old Grand Daughter at this location and they are wonderful. Danna the Director is hands on and she has extensive experience in day care. Her staff is well trained and passionate about there work. They are organized and caring with attention to each child’s personality and needs. My daughter is a nurse with an early shift so I help by occasionally bringing my Grand Daughter into Peppertree in the morning. As with any organization it is all about PEOPLE. What I see at Peppertree is a lot of excellent PEOPLE.
