Pershing is the worst school my grand-child ever went to. Giwa , asst.principle do not care if my grand child was bully.I have came to her numerous times about my grandson son & they did not do anything not even call the parents. So call principle Giwa will always be on those teachers side no matter what, why, because she NEEDS them.My grandson teacher name was Ms.Berensen & she was scare of those kids they tell her what to do.those kids will blame my grand child for somthing he did not do.My grand so name is Tyriq.By Tyriq being a special ed child, giwa had the nerves to tell me that he will never be like other kids as far as getting 95% like other kids .How can you say that to a child .They was having a class discussion & Tyriq said that white ppl have lice,Ms.Berensen told Tyriq to shut up you dont know what you talking about & yes ,white ppl do have lice. Also in june ,they had a FAMILY picnic so Asst. principle was giving mr.williams(2xs),ms.ferguson,Tyriq’s s.e.teacher,I had her in the office too, orders, so she wanted me to volunteer ,I told ms.fergurson as soon as i buy my grandson sum tickets, but they kept hounding me & hunting me down even giwa mind u this was a FAMILY PICNIC!!asst.principle walking round mean muggin,I’m not scare of you, also, they did not give me any volunteer papers 2 sign or on-line.I’m goin 2 network 9 on dearborn 1 of the teacher @ pershing gave me info. Also they transfer Tyriq without my knowledge cus pershing was not his home school,BULL!they transfer him cus I always there to SEEK help for Ty.But lil do they know I was goin to transfer him, cus during the summer he was goin to Karate school. He was only at pershing 1yr.They sits on the rug in class rm the kids don’y want Tyriq to sit on the rug & the asst.principle had the nerve to tell Ty they don’t want him in they’re personal space,Tyriq has every right to sit on the rug .From day 1 Ty was sitting at a desk by himself !! Netwr.9 here I come.No rating.
If you can, avoid putting your child at this school. This school failed my child, they did not help her. I was informed that my child will need to go to summer school, but throughout the year (they) didn’t help her learn, nor did they offer any help. They had tutoring, but when my children came home they told me all they did was play on the tablets/computers, they received NO HELP.so why do they have tutoring?!?! The Teachers don’t like to do their jobs, they don’t teach these kids anything. A lot of them are only there to make a check. In my opinion, Ms. McNeil is the only teacher I came across that genuinely cares for the children in her class. My daughter had Ms. Nelson, and she acted more afraid that the kids were black, so she never really came to my daughters aid when she needed help. I’m disappointed. I’m hurt because I trusted the people in this school, and they didn’t protect my child. A lot of the children are 3rd generation project kids, so it doesn’t matter the location lol. For the parents who have bad kids and they participate in PTA meetings ect, the faculty will show them more loyalty despite if their kids are wrong. The bullies are NEVER disciplined. My daughter was sexually assaulted, and the boys mother was not disciplined, nor was her son. But because the mother was always up at the school, (because her kids are THAT bad) the faculty didn’t do anything. I wish I never sent my children here. Horrible faculty, horrible teachers, bad kids. a total waste.
I go to this school now, as to the another reviews i do relate too as this school has changed, the kids they started trouble and fights are gone and the teachers who was the weak link now the teachers are very nice and if your grades are below a ”C” they will work with to get it up. the kids here are nice and the middle school experience is amazing. everyone is friends and family.
