I recently had the most awesome experience as I visited the school in anticipation of the prospect of sending my daughter there. My experience 6-years prior had been just the opposite. However, a friend suggested that I give them another try and I am so pleased that I did. First, I was greeted by a very pleasant Mr. Michael who not only knew the school, but he personalized my tour to the immediate concerns and needs I had conveyed to him initially. EVERYONE we met was overly friendly and concerned about my needs and my daughter’s future. EVERYONE was sincerely helpful and concerned. Then, through conversations, I found that we knew some of the same people………………….No one, including the Head Master, was too busy to stop and introduce themselves to me……………………I would recommend the school to any and everyone, especially, an African-American as myself. My concern was feeling that my daughter would not only be in an environment that would nurture her and entice her thirst for knowledge, but also a comfortable and safe environment. I feel that she will have the most positive experience possible if I decide to enroll her. If I had to rate them on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, I would have to give them a 20! Sincerely! I pray that my view will never change.
Very good all-around school if your kids are into academics, sports or the arts. The campus is well maintained and consists of multiple buildings, a football field, tennis courts, baseball field, practice fields, 2 basketball gyms, play grounds, field houses and various parking lots. With the exception of the youngest, the kids are not confined to one building and may in some cases walk to different buildings on campus for class.

The academics are a highlight of the school with college-preparatory in mind. The athletics program is also excellent. Pinewood is competitive in Basketball, Football, Tennis, Swimming, Baseball, Lacrosse, cross country and various other sports like track and field, horseback riding, etc.
Other cool things we like at the school include the idea lab and music program.

Teachers are great and the staff genuinely cares about the students. We have seen this numerous times during our interactions with the teachers and headmaster. My kids fit in well and enjoy school a little more than before.

I currently have one in high school and one in middle school.

We have loved the school. Two kids, one in Pre-K and one in middle school. We were really scared of the price, and it does cost. However, they do offer financial aid (grants, not loans) and it is based off of income, which I believe adds some legitamcay to it. Pre-K for us ended up being a little bit cheaper than a daycare, and it is all day. Teachers and staff know your name, and they are attentive to the kids. Classes are small from 8 – 15 kids, so everyone can get help if needed.
