When my daughter attended the nursery 8 years ago I thought it was excellent and so I sent my son when he turned one to 165 new kings road. Aesthetics are nice but it’s grossly overpriced. My son has a speech delay – it was never picked up on by his keyworker. It was only when I noticed and took steps myself that they acknowledged it. Even though my son’s teacher was kind I never thought she was that informed on any SEN issues, which for the price you pay, they should be. During Covid I believe they increased their prices again, to over PS8 k a term or within that range. When that’s more than a term at most other private primary schools in the London area, it’s non sensical to pay that for a nursery.

A word of warning!!! Be wary if you raise any concerns as you might find your child’s place terminated! I should know, it happened to me and at least one other child in the same class. I simply asked for a refund of the upcoming terms fees at the start of Covid, when it was confirmed the nursery would not be reopening. This incidentally coincided with my son having just come out of GOH hospital having had an operation at the start of lockdown. I found Jane’s response (part owner) incredibly rude. She never asked how he was recovering during our exchange and instead of rationally discussing my request, got very defensive and just terminated his place. Very unprofessional. One person I know also unhappy, left the same time. They have since written to her asking her to reconsider a return. So perhaps they are realising that overcharging huge fees and delivering mediocre service won’t work in this current climate. People won’t be fooled. Check out glass door employee reviews – also a worrying insight. Despite this negative review I do want to mention that I always found the manager Rachel very helpful, especially with my first child, but the issues here lie at the top of the chain. When there are so many other gorgeous nurseries available (my son is now thriving in a new one) don’t make the mistake I did. Not the Pippa Poppins I used to love – far from it.
