Portland Nursery School was everything our family was looking for in a co-operative program! It was recommended to us by a family friend and Im so glad there was a spot open for my son. The high level of parent involvement in the classroom is wonderful and you get to know the children and other parents well! Ms. Elizabeth has an impressive early childhood background and brings years of experience as an educator to this unique setting. Her approach to cultivating kindness, curiosity, and growth, through positive social interaction and play based learning is everything! If youre looking for a family oriented program (not to mention affordable), PNS is it!
Our grandson attended Portland Nursery School last year. It was his first experience in a classroom and it was a perfect fit him. My daughter loved being involved in a co-op program and my grandson was always excited for the school week to start again. He especially enjoyed the class trips to gymnastics, outdoor walks in the woods, and the planetarium. I can see why PNS has been around since 1972!
I could not have asked for a better first introduction to school for my child. She started the year timid and ended with so much confidence. Ms Elizabeth’s style and philosophy was a great fit to have her feel engaged and eager to learn. I also loved being involved in the classroom and the running of the school. Can’t wait for my second to be old enough to start!
