PCA has many pros and Cons. I was the guardian of my nephew in 3rd grade at Potential Christian in Cooper City, FL 21-2022.
Pro: great 3rd grade Teacher, w/ Good communication with us and had a lot of patience for the students. Shout out Mrs. Grant!
Con: SAFETY!!it’s an open campus. You can walk on this campus at any give moment,
Walk on the playground with the kids playing, during the school day or after school. They have armed security but I noticed them sporadically as I would enter the school. I Personally have walked out of my car to the playground many times to pick up after school or during school and was never noticed or stopped , I would approach the playground speak to kids way before any adult would approach me
Pro: the school has a good system of honoring students for academics and good behavior. They have award ceremonies quarterly.
CON: poor student pick up system. There were times they didn’t know where our child was or if he was already picked up. Also, the first few times my husband picked up and They never checked his ID to verify he was allowed to pick up.
This school has the potential to be much safer for the students which nowadays should be the TOP priority as school shootings are rampant everywhere. My nephew is no longer there which was a personal decision. But I wish I would’ve known these things prior.
We ended up at PCA by chance. I was a public school teacher and believed in the public school system wholeheartedly. Well, 2 months into elearning at public school and I was desperate for an alternative. I researched and called every private school in a 10 mile radius. Options were limited, and what I thought would be my top choices were full. While PCA stood out of the bunch for many reasons, I was skeptical because there weren’t many reviews, and it was a bit more money than some… still I just felt like this was where we should go, and I am SO happy we did! When reenrollement for next school year came around, I didn’t hesitate, I didn’t try to move to what I thought were my top choices, much less back to public school. No school can possibly top this one! They’ve truly exceeded my (high) expectations! I LOVE that it’s such a small yet diverse school. Mrs. Dunn in K is a phenomenal teacher, fun and so dedicated to her students overall growth. Chapel is fun and engaging. The entire administrative staff at car line is so sweet and patient, and car line goes by quickly! The school wide themed activities / holidays they plan are wholesome, educational, and fun. Everyone here gives 100% and it shows!! We LOVE and highly recommend PCA!
I love this church, school, and the teachers!!! My son attended there for 1 1/2 years. He has Ms. Lola, Crissy, Jen, and Jenna and they are just amazing. He had Ms Lola the whole time he was there, he asks for her all the time. We ended up moving out of state so he hasn’t been there for over 4 months and still asks for everyone there. PCA set the bar high for us. I really miss the school, how amazing the teachers are with the children. The connection and communication to the parents and teaches is absaloutly the best. If something’s up they will keep in close contact with the parents, I always was 100% sure my baby was in good hands at all times. Miss you guys!! Your the best ????
