There are probably better venues for learning than this. There were two instructors there. The one with whom I had actual face-time was a particularly useless, angry, older “gentleman”, who had no concept of enunciation (mumbled too much, making instructions difficult to hear). I had an asthma attack because all (about 10) of the bikes were so close together while dumping exhaust. I asked for a moment to take a dose from my inhaler, so I could continue riding. The instructor just grumpily replied, “There are no moments.” And since I couldn’t really breathe, I got washed from the class (no refund). I mean, I would understand if I was truly holding up the class, but they were taking 15min breaks in between drills (due to cold, wet weather). I couldn’t even get a third of that to address a medical issue. The stakes and risks were so low – just riding in a straight line, switching between neutral and first gear in an otherwise empty parking lot. Not enough patience nor understanding for a place that claims to be “the best start for brand new riders.” I’d rather learn on my own at my own pace than deal with the likes of that again.

TLDR: If you actually want to LEARN how to ride a motorcycle, don’t go here. If you already know how to ride and just want the insurance discount, this is the DMV-approved formality for you.

Excellent course taught by two (Mark and Steve) extremely knowledgeable instructors. Knowledgeable from an informational standpoint, and from their decades of practical perspective. The instructions were clear and comprehensive during the exercises/demos. The guidance and coaching was stern, but constructive and definitely necessary for safe riding. Mark and Steve both provided one-on-one coaching and individual feedback based on their observations.

They shared a lot of their personal experiences, do’s and don’ts, as well as tips that I believe are vital to pass the course and even more so when riding on the street after the course.

My only drawback is the course length. I believe if there was an additional day, or two, it would definitely help with learning the maneuvers and establishing confidence for the practical test. Separate from course length, as my classmate discussed, having us start on a smaller/mini bike for a few exercises then progressing up to the mt03 would help solidify the maneuvers.

All in all, I highly recommend the course and these instructors for anyone seeking to complete MSF. Learned a lot and appreciate the experience and instruction. Good job Steve and Mark! Ride safe gentlemen!
