We enrolled our two and a half year old at primrose, and he was there for about five months. Although our experience may be different than most, I feel it’s important to share. Our son is on the autism spectrum, and at the time he was at Primrose, we were going through the channels to get him a formal diagnosis. He is speech delayed with few words at this time. It became clear to us that he was mostly allowed to roam free (within the classroom) with little to no structure. For his diagnosis, we were asked to have his teacher fill out an assessment, and what we received was somewhat shocking. It was obvious that whoever fill it out didn’t take any time, or even read the questions (when asked to list a skill my son had, they wrote a negative comment. When asked to write an area that needs improvement, they didn’t even answer it). It also seemed to us that they weren’t actually interacting with him much, as they said he was unable to do skills that he was doing on a regular basis, and they gave him a zero for “personality; nearly everyone who interacts with him comments on his sense of humor, and his big personality.

One thing they promote is the app that updates you throughout the day with your child’s activities, bathroom breaks, and food intake. After weeks of being told that my son was eating all of lunch, including all the vegetables, I asked his teacher about it, and was told that the app just defaults to “ate all”, so if they don’t change it, it reports that he ate everything.

For the price, we were pretty disappointed in primrose. While I understand our son is “different” and can be difficult at times, I expected something a little better.

I was super excited for my son to start here, I’ve heard amazing things. I was assured that this would be a school that would help my son. The communication through their app is wonderful considering most schools do not update that much. My sons tantrums are different, and I made sure to ask if and how they go about helping in one of those tantrums, no one was blindsided and I made sure to make the director aware of such. I was reassured that they’d be able to help and that everything was going to be ok. Not even a week and I was told that this school wouldn’t be fit for him that “It sounds like we are killing him; I’m frightened that someone is going to call the police” I came to pick up my son from the school for the second and final time (it was only Thursday). Both owners came up front, didn’t introduce themselves as such and I got a “we tried”. I had to ask if there was going to be a refund issued, wasn’t even offered. If your child doesn’t meet their standards, do not even try. Beautiful facility but they need to work on their verbiage etc….Erica and Mrs. Pleasant, thank you for being so kind to Anakin.
