I was so relieved to finally find a place to help me get started on accomplishing my GED.
Being much older than EVERYONE was (at first) a bit intimidating. I did not know what to expect.

When I began I did not have a job. That was why I was so adament on getting my GED – finding employment was becoming useless.

I visited the offices and met three super kind and helpful staff. I took the tests to find out “where I’m at” and what/how I need to proceed. Everything was spelled out for me. I didn’t know what I didn’t know (sounds funny) but they did know!

Then attending the evening classes began and I was off and rolling toward my GED.

After 5 weeks I FINALLY got a job and the hours were terrible. I had to take the job – I needed income! I wrote to my teacher and she was extremelysupportive and helpful. I missed a lot of the classes because I was working until midnight and sometimes starting at 6am – 8 hour shifts. It is still crazy.

I got Homework which has helped me polish up on my math skills. I have been writing to work on my writing skills.

The people that have made this possible really deserve kudos and respect from any/all of us trying to get back on track.

I am very disappointed with this program. I attended the summer program and ended up with nothing to show for it. First off, no one EVER informed me that I needed to correct my completed packets with a teacher to receive credit. Second, I missed two days due to sickness, had a doctors note and everything, but nope because I missed those days I couldn’t get credit for attending. After the program was over, I went to the offices to find out if I received any credit at all and to inform them I was enrolling into Alpine Adult Ed (because I was moving over an hour away and Alpine provides online classes), they came off very defensive and literally said that if I stayed with them I could maybe get credit for the packets I had completed and attend the in person classes during the fall WHICH I COULDN’T DO BECAUSE I WAS MOVING (and I had informed them of that from the start) … I paid $25 to waste my time. Never got a refund.
Teacher great but this program layed everything out for you and soon they kept adding more and more credits that weren’t originally discussed during enrollment. Faults hope and discouraging. You’ll be almost done then they tell you they can’t use previous credits and have to take more packets but don’t bother discussing that when they knew from the start that they couldn’t count it. So frustrating makes you feel trapped and never going to finish because they set you up for failure. Soo frustrating!!
