Okay I am a senior in high school and I will say, this school wasn’t AS bad and I attended from 2007 to 2009 (for 4th and 5th grade), so I wasn’t there long enough to be a reliable source with this. However, I feel I should be heard with the pros and cons
PROS
– Amazing principal.
– They redid the school yard after I graduated and it looks spectacular.
– Events in this school was fun.
CONS
– A lot of teachers are mean (as far as I remember from the time I was there)
– Children here were far meaner then the last elementary school I went to.
– Can get very disorganized.
– There were quite a big amount of roaches while I was there.
– The bathrooms were disgusting, but again, it was only prior to when I was there.
However a little disclaimer, do not take my review seriously because a lot of these listed were prior to my experience in this school from 2007-2009, the only further knowledge I have that wasn’t from those years has to do with the school year. That is all.
I’ve attended this school many years ago. My experience in this school was amazing. The teachers back then cared about how students were learning and took in their best interest to help students strive higher and succeed. The principal Mr. Ford was also a really nice person. However now, I am quite disappointed. The ratings seemed to have gotten lower and teachers don’t really care as they used to. There is a fair amount of peer pressure and bullying which the teachers are not aware of and do not really try to fix. Most teachers are excellent in teaching whereas few seem to lack effort. It’s just only a few. The behavior of the lunch aids towards the children is disturbing for they can’t speak in a cool tone. Mr. Ford leaving has really hurt this school and put a dent into its reputation. I really wish it was the way it was before. Nonetheless, this school is still a very good school and beats the others in the neighborhood. Some aspect just don’t shine as others.
I’m so sorry .Nihau Hafsa. But the school is the best . And they send all information in the mail with Morning procedure for the school your child will attend including child class number and room number, and supply list, kindergarten students information form to fill out, And for the bus they did say at the orientation on June 7 2016 they will provide bus. Which u must live 1/2 mile or more away from the school your child will attend. And the best part is P.S 131 provides their teachers from kindergarten even the teachers who teaches 1 and 2 grade and the Principal attend the school and they also have an Assistant Principal . So all the kindergarten students that attended the P.S. 35 have all the assistance and teachers from P.S 131. I love P.S 131 they have all a parents could ask for especially when it come to educated a child. I have two kids there and I’m very happy with everything they provide.
