I’m writing to share the experience my wife had today at PS139 REGO PARK.My son did not have school today and couldn’t leave him home alone so she had to bring him with her. Upon dropping off our daughter it turned out she couldn’t stay with my son for the school event. So my wife wanted to tell my daughter that she wasn’t going to stay and to have fun. However, the school staff wouldn’t let my wife go in with our son. They said she had to leave him in the front alone. My son doesn’t do well being left alone with people who doesn’t know and it made my wife feel very uncomfortable to have to leave my son alone because they wouldn’t allow her inside with him. The school should be more understanding with parents who don’t have baby sitters and can’t leave their kid at home in situations like these.
Don’t understand the children, don’t do anything about bullying, the teachers don’t care about what happens and sometimes even bully other children. Only met one nice teacher here and whenever someone gets hurt they get sent to the nurse and the nurse ends up doing nothing.
Very good elementary, but after new principal came in, idk how it is like. They have not fixed a basketball hoop in the park for over a year, tho, if that helps
