I’m not a PTA member however I’m a very proud parent of a student who attends P.S. 162. I’m only writing a positive review bc of all the horrible reviews written about the school.

The price of snacks sold by the PTA should not reflect on the overall school’s performance. Giving the school a low rating based on the price of snacks is extremely petty. Snacks, fundraisers, events, etc are meant to fund our children’s educational experience. The PTA does not keep the profits for themselves. It goes back to the students. Yes, prices of snacks are high BUT again, it goes back to the school and the children. The PTA works extremely hard (on their OWN time with no pay) to provide the kids a fun and enjoyable experience.

I went there for 2 years, and the thing i remember is that we had to make our own white graduation dress, and we had no sewing machine, what a job and now when i look at our graduation picture,it looks pretty good.
