I read about the controversial changes implemented by the new principal through the local news. I was shocked and thought most of them were redundant. I understand the logic behind the change but this is America and people should bend to learn its culture and origin and not bending them to better accomodate the immigrants. Pledge of Allegiance is a joke. It was a Cold War product which should be completely abandoned. If you recite the entire Pledge of Alligiance and constantly reminding yourself that you are in 2016, you will find it rediculous to be part of our educational system. As for my two favorite holidays, Thanksgiving and Chrismas, I think it’s redundant to change the names just so the family of the students can better associate to the idea and value being presented. Thanksgiving and Chrismas represents a great deal of American value and there’s no reason why a person coming to the US should learn a different version of it. However, it is up to them if they want to interpret them in a different way.
