Okay. I’m gonna be honest here. Like a lot of the other reviews, I agree that the atmosphere the school gives is bad. I’ve been in PSA since 6th grade. At first, the students didn’t really behave badly and I actually enjoyed the classes for the most part. But as I started advancing in grade level, the kids start to bully the others. I’ve been talked behind my back for no absolute reason. People here play around in the classroom and if you call them out on it, they’ll make fun of you. During p.e. once, most of my team turn their back on me and decided that they suddenly didn’t know that they were on my team. The opposite team now not only had more players, but scrutinized the remainder of my team for being weak and mocking on how we were playing. The teachers are actually nice though. They genuinely care about you passing on to the next grade level. Another thing about PSA is that they put so much attention on making sure your uniform is perfect. It gets really annoying when you could be calling out the behavior of the other students instead of just putting more attention to my uniform. I’ve gotten detention once for wearing white socks with my class b on. Even though I read the dress code (2017 – 2018 school year) and it stated that we were allowed to wear white socks, though they couldn’t show while walking. And do you know how they find out I had white socks? They made me put the cuffs of my pants up and make me show them the pair of socks I was wearing. Another thing about this school is that there are limited classes. For my freshman year, I wasn’t offered any A.P. classes cause of the limited amount of classes available. I’m now going to be at PSA for my sophomore year, and I’m not looking forward to it. I genuinely want to go to another school. I’m not saying any of this to put a bad reputation on PSA, but please just fix your problems and look at mine and other reviews to see how we students view this school.
I loved my high school experience and nearly everyone in my class, and I don’t know that I would be able to say the same thing if I had gone to another high school. The small class sizes coupled with the fact that we went through fifth to twelfth grades together truly established a close, friendly, welcoming, and respectful community, at least in my experience. Owing to this dynamic, I believe that in no other school would I be able or even willing to find as many good friends as I did, or to become class president as I did. I miss the experience deeply, and my only regrets were leaving after graduation far too early to say goodbye to everyone and the pandemic cutting off what was in store for junior and senior year.

Other aspects are admittedly below par, particularly the scarcity of class options due to how new and small the school still is, and I haven’t heard the greatest of things about the way parts of the administration handle some things. These didn’t affect me too much, but experiences will vary.

Some last things to note. It can be strict and quite structured, but not nearly as much as you might expect; I certainly didn’t feel overwhelmed by the paramilitary style. Lastly, while I’ve noticed middle schoolers reporting poor experiences in their reviews, my personal academic experience during the middle school years at this school was adequate, if not positive, but that was over five years ago, and some teachers have since left and been replaced by new ones.

Overall, again, experiences may vary, but overall if the rest of the Class of 2021 were with me I’d do it all over again… at least starting from freshman year.

This school seems good in concept, but the execution is not good. The school restricts students ability to be their own person, I am not talking about the uniform, I am talking about everything else. The Counselor has told many people I know, that they are a disappointment to their families for cutting and wanting to commit suicide. I am a child and even I know that’s not how you deal with someone who is depressed. Someone like her should not be allowed to talk to children about mental illness and issues in life. Also we are told this is the best school and everyone is great here, when that is 100% false. We have so many students doing bad things and getting caught, but they care so much about their reputation that no one gets into trouble. Its honestly disgusting. This place seems good, but really there are so many things to be fixed. Thank you.
