Absolutely horrible experience here. Sophomore year was WORSE then freshmen year here. This is NOT a school to send your hard working , smart, or intelligent children. They will tell you that you’d on track for graduation then behind your back they will pull credits from your record & make you retake classes for unnecessary credits then at the end they will tell you that you need to do 2 more years of high school after senior year and still will probably not graduate within SIX years.

There is chaos in the school A LOT OF IT. While high school is normally a chaotic place to be, the school itself contributes to make it more chaotic. If you don’t like chaos, Curtis is only 5% worse. If you hate McKee because of the chaos, disruption & rowdiness of kids, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT SENDING YOUR CHILD TO CURTIS! If you go to the counselor to complain that the distractions are the reason your failing they claim they can’t do anything but in reality they can do a lot to make it a less distracting environment I swear the moment I told them I was depressed to the top degree, instead of helping me, they made me more scared to express myself. If your a good student if you make the mistake of even mentioning that you don’t feel you belong here the school calls child services on your parents but luckily the caseworkers close the case within a month.

If you like computer science, along with JavaScript, Tottenville High school has the most awesome program for that & the teacher is amazing there too he lets us learn by interacting with the code.

If you don’t like McKee, tottenville is awesome in terms of rowdy studenrs. The difference between McKee & tottenville is 25% which is absolutely INSANE. The kids in tottenville alwayz respect everyone & everyone cares to make it a less distracting invironment.

Your highly encouraged to give tottenville a try it’s a good amazing school. A few classes are chaotic but nowhere NEAR HALF as bad as the chaotic mess at McKee since I left on March 10.

This is my last year in McKee like everyone who first comes to high school, I was pretty nervous and scared. I met a lot of people kids that come from Brooklyn or the city. McKee has amazing shop classes and its a wonderful experience here I’m currently in the Cosmetology program and I love it. The teachers are amazing but they have their moments too but overall good school I’ve had my ups and downs but in the end I’m glad I came here
This school is really bad . If your kid is in honors or higher they’re going to put them in special needs classes and they’ll just fail your kid no matter how high their grades are . And this school is broke and can afford anything
