I attended in the mid to late’70’s. I came from public high school in another state and got a scholarship because my father knew the right people, otherwise I would most likely never have gotten in. I was uncomfortable with the TOTAL lack of diversity (there were two black kids and one latino in the entire school population; it was insane…). I felt lost going in, but did make great friends whom I have stayed tight with to this day. A lot of our teachers then had substance abuse problems but even among those, I feel the education I received at Ransom was exceptional. I can still remember being fully engaged in various classrooms and know that I took sustenance from those rooms that have buoyed me in all of the days since. (plus – Hey! We got to go sailing for PE; thanks for THAT most of all, Ransom! Hahahahaha still laughing about participating in putting that canoe up on the roof of the science building the night we snuck in to paint the cannon…)
On a more serious note, though: the only reason I wound up on this site today, though is that I wondered if by ANY REMOTE chance, Ransom kids had diversified in the years since I was there. I wondered if maybe they were even marching with students from other local schools in the aftermath of the Valentine’s Day massacre, but when I checked into facebook, all I found was a notice patting themselves on the backs about inviting a couple of notable black men to come speak to the kids. Sigh.

One of the finest schools in the nation and the world…a bastion of the highest quality education, top level sports, and a veritable network of friendships and relationships, which have endured a lifetime. Educated at some of the most prominent schools in various countires on various continents, my experience at Ransom was unrivaled and remains the primary influence of true relevance and pronounced significance in my lifetime.

The successes in my general and specific, social and professional life, have been undeniably shaped and most deeply influenced by the commitment to excellence afforded by this unique learning institution through its extraordinary faculty and staff…a clear demonstration of unparalleled leadership and incomparable vision. Simply stated…learning processes held to the highest standards of the education spectrum.

This is not our school but since we discover Ransom Everglades summer program our son and us love for him to be there . The list of activities is big and changes everyday . Program have everything that kids 6-12 years old like to do . Another wonderful thing that administration , consulars and security extremely nice and professional ! Last but not least the property spreads in the beautiful part of Coconut Grove on the water ! over all is great experience !
