Post pandemic the school is doing well. Great teachers, my kid enjoys going here and is overall a healthy and nurturing place. Areas for improvement, obviously. Keep the good work RI and screen your teachers carefully
This school is not a friendly environment at all! Some of the teachers are really unpleasant and rude.
Loved the chickens though.
As somebody who has been to several schools across three different continents, this school is BY FAR the worst. The standard of education is utterly dire. Faculty are more interested in harassment and bullying than providing a suitable environment to stimulate learning. Your child’s well-being is of no concern if it interferes with the schools twisted values. The curriculum is so antithetical to a good education, it is as though knowledge is being sapped from your mind. This is the only school where I was physically assaulted by a senior member of staff. If you chose to send your child here, there is no guarantee they will escape the 2 years they spend at Remuera Intermediate without some level of complex trauma, which will run up thousands in therapy bills. Steer well clear.
I must say Mrs Miller was lovely, however.
Good “child care” is provided , if you are just looking for a safe environment for your child to spend some time. Academic input is not even bare minimum. My daughter realised the big gaps in her learning only when she moved to a private high school in 2021. This was despite being in the Senior Teachers class for her year 8.
soo glad that one particular teacher moved to being an extra curriculum teacher bc she really was not great at teaching. i bet the principals moved her because it was a known fact she did not do anything.. all i heard from her other past students was that she did not teach us anything and only took us out for sports. also involved her religion with her teaching which is not something you should do! anyway it was an OK school
