This school has to be possibly one of the worst schools in Cook County. My son recently started attending and since he has started he has been harassed by teachers who act like bullies and get in his face and start yelling he has been terrorized by a principal who apparently has nothing better to do than to yell and scream and curse at kids. My son has had his school materials stolen by other children who are too poor to buy their own and has had his planner stolen and then made to seem like was somehow at fault and told to pay $15 to replace that planner. The school does not care about his students as much as its image. Many of the teachers are unwilling to cooperate with parents instead take a very aggressive and standoffish stance when it comes to discussing anything. Overall this school is poorly run and poorly managed and does not seem to care about its students as much as its image and policies. My son came into the school and a student and it’s now pulling C’s and D’s because the teachers refused to help him or to explain any of their lessons with the children. I feel that many of the teachers there I possibly racist and bigoted toward my child because he is biracial and that leads to them not wanting to explain to him any other lessons or offer any assistance in which to help him bring his grades up. When we have confronted the teachers or talk to the principal we are met with aggression, denial and flat-out refusal to cooperate. They refuse to take any responsibility for her children order teaching and instead try to make my son seem like he’s the one at fault. Many of the parents we have spoken to have had the same issues especially within the Latino community that attends at Rhodes School. Many have complained that the teachers are very aggressive and that the principal is not willing to help in any way and many feel that it is due to the fact that they are Latino. I hope this review helps many parents who are deciding on where to send your children if they are moving into the district. I know that I am seriously considering taking my son out at semester time and transferring him to the Catholic school where he will actually have a chance to thrive and have teachers that do care. I know that I am planning to take my concerns to the school board and hopes that someday some changes will be made at the school but I’m not holding my breath.
My kids goes to this school since kindergarten and i have no bad things to say about the school really great and the teachers are the best
