My two children look forward to their drum lesson with Adam each week. He adapts his approach to suit the needs of each child. He’s always friendly and engaging and manages to write out the drum music whilst listening to their stories, building a good rapport, which is so important when it comes to teaching the trickier beats. They trust his confidence in their abilities. Accommodating their musical tastes has really kept them interested and eager to learn. There is a good balance of music reading and jamming so that the kids are subconsciously learning the theory whilst having a great time. Adam has really helped build my son’s confidence and has helped my daughter explore different music genres, encouraging her in every challenge she is given. The kids look forward to their drum lessons because of how approachable and engaging Adam is and I’m so grateful to have found him.
Been going to the drum school for 8 years and it has never let me down. The face to face lessons are perfect and the teachers are always friendly. I have a great friendship with most the teachers and have improved greatly with my drumming schools. From being six and wanting nothing to do with music to now music being a big part of my life. I consistently improve each lesson and overall just have a great time there.
Our Son (13yrs) has been having lessons with Adam at Richard Quinn for approximately 2 years now and he loves it!
The style of teaching they offer at Richard Quinn is modern and focussed around pupil learning through engagement and enjoyment not your typical text book taught music lesson.
Adam started by asking what style and type of music our son enjoyed then taught him how to play it, every kids dream.
He then introduced, writing out the music, ensuring he understood how to relate the written music with what he was playing. Adam is very patient and an excellent musician as well as teacher.
I started as a pupil at the drum school a couple of years ago. As a woman in her 40s who’d never picked up a drumstick in her life I was quite anxious about embarking on this new hobby. Everyone at the drum school was so welcoming, friendly and encouraging that I soon forgot my nerves. My lesson has now become an integral part of my weekly routine. It helps me forget about work and de-stress. I’ve learned to drum along to some of my favourite songs and now listen to music in a completely different way. Decided to get back into drums in my twenties after taking lessons as a kid and have been coming here weekly for a couple of years now. Great teachers, accommodate for all ages and experience levels. Would recommend!
