Since where new to RISD my kids had to come here .. enrolled them since July barely had a apt in September 21 .. (today is the 27) i got there at 1 & still after 3 pm I was there.. had 3 lady’s helping trying finish and get me out .. they didn’t have they stuff organized seemed confused as well .. I was told I was going to be getting a call the next day till today they have yet to call .. one lady excuse sitting at the front was well prek is OPTIONAL like I DNT know or it’s an excuse why she is being lazy & not handling the situation with care.. I have 2 kids one waiting for pre-k 3 & pre-k 4 . Been enrolled since July before school started .. 3 year old will be his first year & 4 returning coming from DISD. I dnt understand how difficult something can be when you already should know how things are done .. only my 2nd grader is on school atm. They need to get retrained or hire someone knew with knowledge! (Only 1 lady was very helpful)
UPDATE: 2/8/22 MY SON IS STILL ON A WAITING LIST SINCE I WENT THERE & I HAVE CALLED & LEFT VOICEMAIL & NO RETURN TILL THIS DAY!!
I’m giving a 1 And will change if there’s improvement however staff needs to be on the same page with information. When I called the office the first time I was advised to go directly to the school for registration and the lady ran me off the phone. I made it to the school and guess what there’s nobody there at least in the office so I called again and the second lady with an attitude advised Registrations are August 7th well I think that information would have been helpful the first time since it’s 103 degrees outside.
They definitely need a better system. It seems as if I have to register my child twice. A lot of time wasted. Especially coming from low-income families who must take time off of work to enroll their child in pre-k. Please come up with a more efficient method. This is purely time wasted. Not to mention the ladies who drag their feet; it takes over and a half an hour to before you’re seen/service. What a joke and waste of taxpayers money.
