River oaks isn’t the best school I wouldn’t recommend. Most of the teachers are rude, don’t teach correctly, and don’t listen to the students when they try to explain. Also the is just gross and dirty half the time, I cannot go throughout my day without finding at least 5 pieces of weave in the hallways, and sometime they are placed on desks. The bathrooms are gross and seem to never be cleaned. River oaks is also overcrowded, the hallways are packed and you can’t go anywhere without getting stuck in one place because some kids decide to stand there and talk and even I you are walking and trying to go around you run into other people going the opposite direction. In my opinion I do think the grade levels should be dismissed from class to class at different times. One good thing about this school is the elective teachers are very kind, especially the Art and Dance teachers, and Spanish teacher. Overall I don’t recommend this school, its ghetto, dirty, gross, and the teachers aren’t the best. But if you are looking for a school with a bunch of fights, I would recommend going here.
One of my favorite schools. I attended this school for the last half of 7th grade in 2013. I was excited every morning to go to school! Unbelievable, right? Excited for school. But I was! I loved the atmosphere of the school and loved that we got outside time. I also LOVED THH FOOD! My favorite was the mini like subway line. I didn’t have many friends, I could count them all on one hand, but I still had fun. The teachers were awesome! They helped me a lot when I needed it. For exaplme one of my friends was depressed and was cutting, so I told a trusted teacher and was amazed on how much they helped my friend! They took it very seriously unlike other schools I’ve been to. It’s true there were fights (only two when I was there) but yet again the staff took it very seriously and solved the problems. I was Very sad to leave this school.
Decent school I would have moved schools by now but there only one thing keeping me back from going to Oakbrook 1. My friends are here 2. My favorite art teacher is here and 3. we only have a semester left so there would be no point to switch school I would just end up with the same kids in High school. Some reasons that I like the school are because most of the teatchers are nice, the lunch ladies and janitors are nice and they TRY to stop fights. I have no idea why but, if you stand up for yourself and fight back they’ll take disciplinary actions on you and the other individual so your just supposed to take the hits i’d like to go and see any of the teachers get punched and see if they fight back or don’t unlike ms.Viscidi who got hit in the face atleast 3x last year when there was a fight on my way to 4th period.
