The registration process is terrible. I registered my son over a month ago and nothing. Took him to open house and they don’t have him in the system, told me it’s nothing they can do, told me to contact the registrar office. Called them several times, first time left a VM, no called back, now the VM is full. Went to the board and lines backed up outside. School started Monday and it’s Thursday, still nothing. Whats the purpose of online registration if it don’t make the process any faster. Coming from Gwinnett cty and seeing how Rockdale cty do things, it’s ridiculous how far behind this town is. This town is country slow and need to take some lessons from Gwinnett cty in how to get things done, how to communicate with the parents and let us know what’s going on. Smdh
I wouldnt even give them a star! This is the absolute worst county to enroll your child in. Moved to rockdale county and I completed registration online and my application has yet to be reviewed and there is no timeline as to when it will be completed. The lady whom I spoke with was very nonchalant and not soothing the fact my child is not in school. I have to send my child to live with my mother (previous county) just so my child can go to school! I do not recommend rockdale county at all.
This was my fifth time registering a child into the school system starting in 2005. I always have the same experience and this last time was no different, the staff is warm and welcoming the process moves very quickly as long as you have everything you need. If not they will kindly tell you what you need and where you can go to get it. I like that.
