Great instructors, lots of planes to choose from for lessons. I’ve flown with four instructors there and they are very qualified and safety orientated. I have one instructor who is newer than the others, but he is even more safety conscious than the others and follows check list exactly. I read the other reviews. The front desk can be a bit disorganized at times, but I think it is a mainly because it is a busy place and they sometimes have trouble keeping up with the flow of students and multiple airplanes. The airplanes are old, but that is normal in GA. The airplanes are safe though, the instructors and desk take mechanical issues very seriously and they just move you to a plane of the same model if the one you reserved has an issue. If you don’t mind paying more you could try a different flight school and pay a premium for newer aircraft. Bc of faa regulations, aircraft maintenance is extremely expensive, and new planes cost half a million dollars each.
I had reached out to RMflight to schedule my Commercial Multi time building. They connected me with their instructor and I had scheduled out my time building. I had fully booked my stay and flight tickets to fly into Denver. Later the owner calls me and says he is cancelling my flights since I am not a US citizen. I told him to uphold the current bookings I made for that weekend and in future he can prevent me from making any further booking but the owner still declined. He said, “sometimes life is just fair”. I can’t even refund my flight tickets since its not refundable.
My 16 year old daughter takes lessons here to get her ppl, and it has been nothing but fantastic thus far. She trains with Aiden, who we highly recommend! He’s very professional and courteous, stays in touch when weather isn’t cooperating in case of cancellations, and even helped me shop for a new headset for my daughter for a Christmas present. I shopped the other schools at Rocky Mountain Airport, and RMFS’s prices can’t be beat. Their online reservation system is extremely easy to use, from picking an instructor to picking a plane. I can’t say enough good things!
