My daughter was in Ms Coopers class and half way through the year she was moved due to her unfair treatment by Ms Copper ,, She would be placed in front of class to have her frowned upon in which open the window for certain student to pick on her, She was called a Lesbian , nastyy even a few cuss words … She was always sent home with negative notes , some i still cant believe a teacher would even say .. After sevral meetings I put in for a Principal and parernt meeting were i mention student name were i learned how highly she spoke of the student my daughter had mention as one of the students picking on her …. She started refusing to believe she would ever as i ask if she was calling my daughter a lyer and why she singled my daughter out , i learned that day this was never going to end so I asked for her to be moved and upon moving her to Ms. Dods class there was still issues with the student , but her Grades went from Ds and Cs too As An Bs… And I feel that it shows in the turn of teacher and her surrounding … although she has issues i stay on every event of my daughters school experience and refuse too allow her precious years to be bullied and treated as if she isn’t worth the time , as one student has been expelled … I have seen first hand the parents and teacher and other staff walk right pass a child being pushed against the fence by older student .. after watching fathers and mother walk pass i intervened .. ..Its up to us to teach are children right an wrong and not to allow special treatment… its a very vulnerable time for kids and to listen too your child when they come too you with the concern or unfair treatment…
By far the best! This is a school that is lead by a principal that genuinely cares for the students. 17/18 was my son’s first year there in the 4th grade. We came from Canopy Oaks elementary where the principal was horrible and did not relate to the children. Do not be fooled by grading scales and ratings, it goes off test scores. That is important yes, but is equally important that children are around teachers who genuinely care about their well being. The staff is so helpful and honestly this school is under appreciated. This has been the best elementary school experience by far. I’m so greatful… from the principal out there early morning at parent drop off to the love of the after school staff, this school knows kids!
If your child has behavioral issues do not send your child here, they restrained my kindergartener and hurt him without grounds to do so and then called DCF on my family because I reported them to the school board when they were supposed to call them on their staff for bruising my 6 year old. They don’t communicate, you have to fight just to talk to someone. Please think twice and try to do the school choice program, this school is a joke!
