The teachers are somewhat passionate about teaching. The bullying comes in waves and is extremely bad when it does. Most students aren’t encouraged to learn nor are they encouraged to make friends. The security guards don’t seem to know what privacy is considering the fact that when they take your phone (most of the time for invalid reasons), they try to unlock it and go so far as to go through it. Most of the people that wrote this are in the school, as am I, but I’m giving it an honest rate not based on a grade I got considering the fact I make fairly good grades. But I digress, the teachers are only pointing out bad grades because this year it “counts”. I feel like threatening the students by not getting to continue (which they still continue and go on to ninth grade because they don’t actually fail kids) is a pretty bad approach for trying to encourage students to learn. As of now, over half of the students in eighth grade have a failing grade. And half of those kids have more than one failing grade. It doesn’t sound like the students are the problem. Maybe the teaching methods of the teachers are the problem. Maybe the school should train their teachers better and not accept just any old “teacher”. Maybe they should be more strict with their students because teachers won’t extend due dates in highschool. The students should think of middle like a training for highschool/college and not just a daycare. But, I can’t change the school. Nobody else can either. I do not recommend going there. For your child’s own good of course
We moved to the area and I had to put my children in this school. I am so pleased at how attentive and caring the school staff is about the children. This is a very good school. Every issue that we had encountered through the year was met quickly and many times the issues were brought to my attention when I didn’t even know. We had special circumstances that required extra safety for my children and the staff far exceeded any expectations I had. They were so kind and caring and always kept me informed of my children’s progress academically. Mrs. Williams is an amazing principal who was always there when I needed to talk or meet with her. I am very pleased with this school and look forward to many more years here with my children who will be attending as they get old enough to go to Middle School. I just want to say thank you to the staff and a special thank you to Mrs. Williams.
The teachers are very rude and not helpfull to children or their parents. All they do is laugh and talk with other staff and ignore the child that needs help. When they finally done chatting, they talk to the child rude and impatient. The child feels like she can’t get any help and the teacher is mad at her. If you talk to a counselor, think about it twice. After that, your child will be singled out and embarrassed in front of the entire class. Oh, and try e mailing a teacher if you have questions about a project or something. No helpfull respond, if any. This school is a failure all the way. If you’re involved with PTA, or know the teacher or donate a lot, you’re child will be treated right.
