Absolutely outstanding faculty and math curriculum. Faculty as well as administrators and support staff are friendly, listen well and will work well with both students (and parents when necessary). I believe that the RSM math program prepares your student for high school, the SAT and college math. RSM is an excellent adjunct to regular school math programs.

Update 3/26/2024
So… What happened to the child that prompted my writing the 5-star review above? H graduated from Brookline High School and was accepted at UChicago as a dual physics & math major, where he is currently a Sophomore. He was one of seven Freshman that was able to complete honors analysis (math majors know the class). He loves the rigor and his school. Last summer he spent interning at Harvard Medical Physics lab. He is drafting a paper for publication on his work. This summer he is slated for an internship at Fermilab in quantum physics.

So if you asked me:
1. Was Russian Math critical to his success to date? – YES
2. Was Russian Math (along with his education at BHS) a success factor? – YES
3. Was it easy? – NO
4. Would I recommend your child try Russian Math? – As long as your child has an “affinity” towards STEM or math, I’d recommend it. (I would not force a child to do anything they didn’t want – after trying it.)

While waiting for my child near the end of class I asked to used the restroom. The woman at the front desk stated restrooms were only for students. I then asked if she could go get my child so I could leave and search for a restroom somewhere else. I did not want to run the risk of not being on time to pick up my child. She refused to go get my child and suggested that I go to the restaurant next door because it had a public restroom. I walked over to the restaurant and when I asked to use the restroom they were appalled that they were recommended for this purpose. They only allowed restrooms for paying customers. For $1200 and after traveling across town I would expect that RSM could make an emergency exception just out of courtesy. However that was not the case. I am thankful that the restaurant understood my frustration and was willing to allow me to use their restroom without having to pay for it. Not only was I embarrassed but was completely mortified that RSM could be so callous. This was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. As as a fellow business owner I would never treat my clients in such a manner.
I like RSM Curriculum and approach. Sometimes I hear that teachers are too strict here comparing to public school, but I would say that RSM teachers are more demanding because they do care about results of my kids. And I see that hard work of my kids pays back with their confidence. I truly appreciate everything my kids learn at RSM because it goes beyond Math: they learn how to set high goals and work for the result, they learn how to be persistent. And it is so important to be surrounded by smart peers! Thank you, RSM
