Leadership comes from above and unfortunately the leaders here have a lot to answer for, a bit more empathy and less ‘business’ minded wouldn’t go a miss and hey you may even manage to keep the staff and become a thriving school for our future generation!
Oh, where do I start with this joyful review? Let me just say, I have been absolutely thrilled with the school ever since the transition from Springfields to SAIL. The kids being on part-time schedules for weeks due to staff shortages? What a fantastic way to foster independence and self-sufficiency! And who needs 1-1’s or therapy anyway, right? Those are totally overrated.
I just love how they scaled back on alternative provision and turned the school into a prison-like setting. It really gives off that cozy, welcoming vibe. The lack of art work or comfort around the halls? Brilliant! Who needs a stimulating environment for learning when you can have cold, sterile walls instead? And let’s not forget about the kids being locked in classrooms and monitored even when they need to use the restroom. It’s all about discipline and structure, am I right?
And don’t even get me started on the lack of resources and funding for the children. I mean, who needs supplies or access to things when you can just make do with the bare minimum? It’s all about teaching kids the value of making do with what they have. Simply splendid!
I’m fighting to stop another child coming here as this school will ruin him, just because he is autistic does not mean this is the best place for him. He has high sensory needs, needs a calm and nurturing environment which I feel SAIL are completely unequipped to deal with.
The staff turn over is ridiculous. I have no idea who is actually in charge, I couldn’t even provide a timeline they’ve gone that quickly.
The actual building is well miserable. As others have said it is like a prison with locked classrooms doors, nothing but grey, dull decor. It is not gentle and welcoming at all.
The mark has 1000% been missed with this school.
