I have a younger sister who has autism that stayed at Homeless Runaway shelter. (My aunt- unaware of what was to unfold-assumed no harm would come from a place named ST. ANNE) If you love your child, do not send them here.

St Anne’s model in simple , keep a minor in the shelter long enough to squeeze every last dollar from the system, then leave the child high and dry.

The staff here will encourage the minor to turn against their parent / guardian and get CPS involved because of arguments. Literally. No actual abuse or neglect, just arguments. So CPS (which will hopefully be dismantled and defunded in the future) opened a case on my aunt, is going on their predictable power trips and turning over every rock. Because why not right ?

Sorry bout that rabbit trail , back to St. Annes. The staff spoiled my sister by letting her bend all rules, be truent from school, not provide proper medical, therapy, psychiatrist or any substantial treatment. And now she doesn’t want to go home. Because they give her cake ice cream , stay up late , let her go online whenever, just wild!

Let her own family do that for her. (Which they have) They encourage my autistic sister to stay with them. Its just plain creepy. No, It’s like a horror movie, like “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle”, or any movie where the psychopath wants to slowly replace the mom/wife.

I have no reason to lie I don’t even live in NY but it needs to be said because it may save someone from having to deal with this kind of corruption that is literally the definition of child exploitation.

I am this close to calling the FBI.

As a child who has been traumatized 25 years ago this place should be shut down. Sever neglect putting children that don’t comply in a tiny room for weeks with nothing but 4 brick walls and a tiny pad to sleep on. Forced to take medications we knew nothing of what they even were. Were not allowed to talk to Family and never knew when we were going home. They make you mess up and push you mentally so you can’t complete their program and end up staying for what seems like forever. Forced to eat within 10 minutes or you can’t finish your meal . Severe bullying by staff and other residents racial discrimination. This place did nothing to help me as a child only Made me feel unwanted. I wasn’t even a bad kid and got treated like I was a criminal. I would never send my child here. It’s no wonder they have a high rate for runways With me being one because I would have rather slept in a sewer than ever Look at that place again. Never got my letters from my family or packages and not allowed to call them hopefully in the last 20 years the place has gotten better but by reading these reviews it doesn’t look like it. Do not send your child here if you want them to have a normal life because they’re gonna be severely traumatized, I’m 35 years old now, and I still have nightmares of this place After 25 years

St. Annes is the worst thing I’ve ever has to go through, and it’s definitely not something you want to put a minor through EVER. I’m in st annes at the moment but I’m on awol, and I can’t tell u how many sleepless nights I’ve had with girls pulling fire alarms to open the units to fights the girls, the staff will make fun of you or catch a attitude with the residents, the staff will keep egging the girls on to believe that the girls beat the other girls up or just rewarding their behavior this place is unbelievably disgusting and there is black mold on the ceilings and the kitchen serve us raw food it’s always cold in the building and we can’t do anything without asking. During school they make us sit there for 80 minutes for 4 classes everyday with the same people we taught 2 days ago. So please do yourself a favor don’t work here or send your kids here EVER -TFB FVR
