A friend of mine goes to this school and is extremely dissatisfied about how they’re being treated here by the staff (from just listening to them, I would agree). One example is that just today, their schedule was suddenly changed without their permission nor acknowledgement, thus removing a preparatory class they needed in order to enroll in a different class in the future. They had been extremely excited to take this course. When asked what had happened, THEY were the one who was put the blame on, with statements such as “according to the records, ___ was the class you requested” when they clearly did not/never requested that class nor mentioned it. Soon after, ANOTHER one of their classes were changed, as well as a complete shift in their schedule times. This would’ve been fixable/manageable (in terms of mental health), if not the *next day* was the first day of school.
This school only caters to the mid to high ideal cookie cutter student. I personally did not receive substantial help after receiving a diagnosis of a learning disability, which was also the case for some other students who had emotional disorders. However, the large student body allows for most everyone to find a niche, with what seemed in my time there, minimal bullying.
The multiple scandals tied to this school should make everyone applying second guess their selection, I attended the school during one of them.
Bottom Line: Academics are good/okay; the administration systematically fails to protect students on a social level; the large student body may or may not make up for some shortcomings.
Dont waste your time on this school. Constant bomb threats, in which results in school being canceled, happened too many times to count throughout the year. It makes you fear for your childs safety. Teachers are really bad teachers and unqualified, and to top it off they are racist. There are other reviews about this school that state how racist this school is to non-whites, and lets not forget about the inappropriate touching of students by staff, you can google and see the hundreds of cases about complaints from current and former students. Dont waste your money on this school. There are far better private schools, that are actually worth the money.
