From my experience, most teachers I had were generally good. Most noticably the English department, History department and Business Studies departments were mostly good. Science had few very good teachers and most weren’t the best; physics here is soon to be horrendous with the only good teacher leaving.

Also, high achieving students are somewhat heldback such as in English without them having sets. Any attempt to mitigate this helped but didnt replace sets.

Some departments are horrible like computer science and Maths that desperately need better teachers.

Idk much abt bullying in this school (bit of a skill issue if u ask me) but my year group overall was pretty respectful.

Every classroom has A/C now which is a MASSIVE plus.

Terrible school my daughter was horribly bullied and they did nothing, she was hiding in the bathrooms and all they did was recommend a school club!? If you love and respect your children enough to care about their mental health do not under any circumstances send them to this school.
horrible school my chicken was uncooked wont let u go home even if you’ve been sick get called a paki multiple times teachers got favourites u ain’t allowed to wear your coat u less to ur going home or entering school and you get detention for carrying it it’s also PS1.60 for a lil brownie dude
i got severely traumatised and bullied here and all they did was defend my bullies when i fought back do NOT send hr children here lmfao
I don’t look back at my time in this school fondly. I’ve heard from friends that continue to study there at the sixth form that not much has changed. There is more emphasis on how a student looks than on their education. I was placed in detention for a week because the top of my hair was longer than the sides and back of my hair… i’m literally not joking. The teachers have always been quick to notice the wrong haircut but ignore bullying like it’s no big deal.

Having good Ofsted reports means nothing when the students and staff are made to act a certain way whenever there’s an inspection.

I haven’t gone to this school in years but even I know that sometimes it’s better to send your kids to an average school with character, where the kids can actually have a bond with their teachers, rather than a cold and sad place like SRA.
