Terrible choice for kids who are young. The Kindergarten teachers do not know how to teach young children. If your child isn’t ready to sit in a desk for the majority of the day and be denied bathroom breaks, they will struggle.

I moved to the area specifically to have my son attend this school. I paid tuition and deposit up front for the entire year. We made it a total of 3 weeks, and they were some of the most challenging weeks of our lives. 3-4 times a week they would have me pick my 5 year old up early because “he wasn’t listening” and they “don’t know what to do”. It got to a point where I started to think there was something wrong with my son and we began therapy sessions.

As soon as we switched to public school at Jose Ortega, my son loved school again and I haven’t had a single issue with the school calling to have me pick him up early. He is now excelling academically and likes his teacher. At pacific academy, he dreaded coming to school and the English speaking teacher seemed to pick on (and basically gaslight) him, then complain that he was acting out.

The school refunded me most of my money, but we were still out several thousand dollars, which they say were non-refundable. We basically paid thousands of dollars to to torment our child and make him think there is something wrong with him.

I’m thrilled to share our wonderful experience with our son’s small private elementary school in San Francisco. Our journey began in kindergarten when he was just 5 years old, and now, in 2nd grade, we couldn’t be happier.

The small class size, capped at 10 kids, has truly made a difference. The teachers not only know our son well but also each and every child and their families. This personalized approach has made the learning experience exceptional.

From a parent’s perspective, we are deeply grateful for the school’s excellent management, especially in navigating the challenges posed by the pandemic. They’ve gone above and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.

Additionally, the variety of after-school activities available has added immense value to our son’s education and overall growth.

In short, our family couldn’t be more pleased with our son’s school. It’s a place where education, safety, and community truly come together to create an exceptional learning environment. We’re grateful to have found such a gem in San Francisco.

We aimed to find a school that is traditional (has structured approach and rules, for example, only one person speaks at a time at classes), does not have too many kids in classes, has a uniform, provides with hot meals for lunch (which is perfect both for kids’ health and saves a lot of time and effort for us as parents), is non-religious, and still is affordable, has dancing extra classes.Surprisingly, we found all of that in SFPA and more. On top of the abovementioned, the school is bilingual, English and Russian, and seems to have adopted best practices from both cultures. On top of the US school program classes, they have Russian and Math in Russian, as well as extra Art classes and lego robotics. We could only find positive reviews of the school both on the web and in person. We were worried whether our daughter will like it the same as we did, and she found it amazing. So, the choice is made:)
