This school is terrible. They’re plan with the students might not seem that bad, and it’s not, but the thing is that they don’t even know how to execute their “vision”, let alone do they even know where to start. They change rules that don’t need to be changed, they make unnecessary changes to almost anything they can and their excuse to doing so is always, “It will help the students get a more in-depth view of what they’re learning.” I call bs. They recently spent loads of money on some huge unnecessary TV screens for every classroom, and now the science department doesn’t even have money for safety goggles. How’s that for fair distribution of funds? I can go on and on about the flaws of this school, but I’d rather not. All I got to say is that the 4.6 star review they have now, they better start proving to not only the students, but to parents, staff, and most importantly themselves, why they deserve that rating.
Great school…i’m class of 2014 and i can honestly say that my senior year was the best year of my life so far. Great teachers…most of them…student body is super diverse and even though there have been some things in the news, thats doesnt define the school at all. The football program is one of the best in the bay and probably the state…baseball program is pretty good too…the whole sports program for SL is really good actually. All students and parents who read this, really consider either going there or taking your child there…its worth it
This is a school that has much to offer with good teachers (most), a good curriculum which offers many APs, academies that specialize in arts, media and business, and a very diverse student body. Like the old saying goes…you get out of things what you put in. I hope more parents sending their children to private schools will reconsider, make a commitment to public school and get involved in their students education. Send them to their local high school- it is a great experience.
