Our son started going to Santa Clara Montessori at 18M and has been going there full-time for over a year now. He has developed so much since. He now can recite the alphabets and knows his numbers. One day he came home and randomly counted 1 to 10 in Spanish. That’s incredible. We love how the school provides many different activities through the year, such as weekly yoga, a month-long summer camp with different themes each week, a field trip to a pumpkin patch, where parents can join, and a get-together dinner for Christmas / Thanksgiving where parents can enjoy their son/daughter perform to little songs. For security purposes, the school uses an app for check-in & check-out, so no one else except for us and a few family members that we’ve added in the app can pick our son up. Daily photos are sent through the app as well. It’s so nice to be able to see from the photos / videos how our son is doing at school. The school provides lunch, which they send out their weekly lunch menu each week (vegetarian options are also available), so we don’t need to worry about packing lunches. The teachers also help with potty training at school, making the transition a lot easier for the parents. When our son just turned 2 and was going through some misbehaving phases, Ms. Katie (the director) and one of the teachers sat us down and gave us advice on how to cope with his behaviors. We know the teachers tried their hardest to be patient and work with our son, and we are really grateful for that. Most importantly, we think the teachers there know what they are doing and are truly dedicated and caring. We can feel that they want the best for our son and want our son to grow in a good direction. We cannot recommend this school enough.
Our son started at Santa Clara Montessori in August of 2023 as a 3 year old. Previously he had difficulty adjusting to the daycare environments emotionally and socially.

I can say over the last 6 months our son has made huge progress. He adjusted relatively quickly to the new environment which has a small cohort of kids and building size that is not too imposing or overwhelming. Drop offs and pickups are very quick aiding in daily transitions greatly.

The school encourages independence and has allowed our son to grow in several areas such as communicating desires, following instructions, self care such as taking on and off shoes and interacting with his peers. We have seen a lot of improvement in all these areas.

We feel the Montessori method is working well for our son, and daily activities include circle time activities, group physical activities like Pilates, individual activities for each child and the all important play time, lunch and nap time. We love the daily update on the parent teacher app which shows photos of our kid during the day engaging in various activities. The app is very convenient when communicating with teachers about things like schedule changes and early pick up times or if grandparents are picking up our kid for example. Daily lunch menus are posted. We like that lunch is included and only the plates and utensils are provided by us in a daily basis.

Overall we are very happy with our choice to send our son to Santa Clara Montessori and continue to see improvements in our son as he also continues to be a happy kid in and out of school.
