The company that owns this facility does not know the value of its teachers and principal. This school is ideal. The principal and every member of the faculty know each student by name. They genuinely care for each students success and are engaged in making sure no child gets left behind. Even their maintaince man Mr. Moya is involved with keeping the children safe and providing the best environment to encourage learning. I grew up in Miami’s failing public school system. This faculty has revived my belief in the public school system. Students are treated with respect and are given personal attention. They are an A+ honor school because their principal and faculty care about seeing these kids grow up to be a successful part of our society. They are selfless. Unfortunately, as of 6/30/18 this school will no longer exist. Its governing body has sent out a statement on 4/25/18 stating that despite its outstanding academic performance and consecutive years of A+ grades they have chosen to close the school due to financial difficulties. This was news to the parents as well as the staff. Today, I attended the board meeting which would make the official vote to close the school. The project director named Michael Strader explained that they made a financial deal with the owner of the building last school year that they knew they would have to make good on this year. They had an entire year to plan and had previous years of failure to learn from. Their plans to succeed were not well thought out and they failed. They did not make the faculty or school aware until 4/25/18. Mr. Strader blamed this decision to close the school on the community and its lack of admissions to our school. Despite having a surplus in funds it was clearly stated that the students and teachers hard work was of no value and that the school was not worth continuing to finance. Mr. Strader was not accountable for his lack of action. He was not remorseful or ethical in any manner to leaving his students and staff without placement for next year and doing so 30 days prior to the end of the school year. He is business focused and clearly not very good at what he does. He said it was his recommendation to the board that Santa Fe no longer receive funding. This is due to the mismanagement that is external to the hard work of the principal and faculty of Santa Fe. I want to say that principal Nieves has done a fantastic job for our students and has created the ideal entity that should be replicated and built upon, not disbursed. Its disappointing to know that the almighty dollar means more to people like Mr. Strader than to raise our kids to be outstanding people of our community, and to give them a fighting chance when they have earned it. The staff and principal of Santa Fe Academy are blameless of this occurence. I want to thank them for there hard work, efforts, and help in raising my son and daughter. We truly consider you an extension of our family. I wish you all the best in all of your endeavors and I hold you all accountable for how much my son and daughter have achieved so far. THANK YOU. It is my recommendation that Mr. Michael Strader and Charter School Associates rethink its moral code, ethics, and business model. You have just failed an entire community.
Small school setting and the teachers work above and beyond to help their students. My daughter has been attending this school since kindergarten and i couldnt be happier with my decision of choosing them over Bridgepoint. The school is not perfect but they have come a long way the past few years.
