Andrea is simply amazing! I had zero painting experience and took a private lesson then did an Artist Retreat.

I tried talking a class 20 years ago elsewhere, felt so intimidated & quit after 1 class. This experience could not have been more different! Andrea is kind, caring, knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, helpful & provides constructive feedback. She taught me the basics in color, composition & mediums in a way that was easy for me to follow.

The retreat was so well organized! I was constantly impressed. We had an agenda that included morning exercises, Artist quotes & visuals to get us inspired then demos and painting time. She even fed us! Healthy meals, snacks, beverages and all in a very comfortable/ inviting environment. The studio is beautiful with a lot of natural light, we had all the paints, brushes, mediums & materials to incorporate into our work that we could have needed.

Our group was a mix of experienced painters and newbies like me. Everyone really got what we each “needed” & came for out of it.

Do not hesitate to sign up for lessons and/or the Artist Retreat! You will walk away feeling so confident & inspired!

Incredible experience! I am relatively new to painting and discovered Santa Fe Painting Workshops after researching the highest rated art schools in Santa Fe. There were endless positive reviews, and the school offers workshops, group and individual lessons to ALL skill levels. I absolutely fell in love with Pamela Trueblood’s art and scheduled two full days of acrylic painting (landscape and floral) with her. She is unbelievably talented as an artist, a wonderful teacher, and a warm and vibrant individual.

The studio has perfect lighting, comfortable and inspiring ambiance, easy access and parking, and the music was perfect.

Pam started the lesson with fundamentals, provided reference material, and all of the supplies necessary. I cannot tell you how much wisdom I gained in only two days and the quality of my art since being home has drastically improved.

This is by far the best Art school in Santa Fe. If you are undecided, I will share that I live in San Fransisco California and made the trip to Santa Fe New Mexico for this art class with Pam and it was 100% worth it. I will be back!

My daughter-in-law, 2 grandchildren ages 9 and 11 and I took a 2 hour lesson from Andrea and it was terrific and so was she. We did a landscape and she was very good at teaching, suggesting and helping these 3 beginners. .She was never frustrated when we didn’t understand and she explained the process again and illustrated her points and suggestions on her own canvas that she painted along with us.

Her patience and more importantly, her skillful instruction permitted us to leave with 4 paintings and many smiles and a happy outlook
