Shame on you for punishing the students for participating in the protest yesterday! These youngsters are expressing their first amendment rights, and are passionate about an issue that directly impacts them! Instead of being PUNITIVE, why not support this effort and make it a teachable moment? Really poor decision on the part of school administrators. SHAME ON YOU!! Glad my kid went to a top rated high school (Millburn) – our school supported the student protest and encouraged the kids.
How could the Administration at this school threaten their students with suspension for participating in a walk out organized by students for the safety of students? This walkout should have been used as a teaching moment for the power of non-violent demonstration. Thank God that Rosa Rodriguez, the sole student to defy the Administration, is smarter and more courageous than the people who are supposed to be teaching her.
